Day 1: Tangier to Chefchaouen

Day 2: Chefchaouen to Rabat

The drive is beautiful and refreshing. Once you reach Rabat, you will be met by our local guide who will show you around the historical city, its interesting monuments and sights and explain its long and important history. After lunch, you will discover the vital monuments of this city like the Hassan II Tower, the king’s palace, the Oudaya Kasbah and the beautiful Medina which was built on an orderly grid in the 17th century. Day 3: Rabat to Meknes to Volubilis to Fes

On the third day of our imperial cities tours from Tangier via desert, we will depart from Rabat heading to the imperial city of Fes. Along the way, we will stop to visit Volubilis, which is the farthest Roman post south of Morocco, where you can witness the glory of the Roman Empire and enjoy the beautiful mosaic in the ruined mansions. We will also stop for lunch and a small visit in Meknes, one of Morocco’s ancient cities where we will stroll in its busy squares and Medina (Lahdim). We will be sightseeing all interesting places in the city including Mausoleum Moulay Ismail, Sahrij Souaniwe and Bab Mansour which is the biggest gate in Morocco. Day 4: Full Day Guided Tour in Fes.

Day 5: Fes to Ifrane to Azrou to Midelt to Merzouga to Erg Chebbi

On the fifth day of our Tangier to imperial cities tours, after having your breakfast, we will be back on the road to Merzouga through the gorgeous and calm Middle Atlas Mountains passing by cities like “The Switzerland of Morocco”, Ifrane, well-known for its cold weather throughout the year and its European-styled buildings. We will also pass through the city of Azrou which is famous for its fine wood taken from the surrounding cedar forests that are inhabited by the playful Barbary Macaque monkeys. Azrou was once the capital of the Berber communities of the Middle Atlas. From Azrou, we will carry on our journey to the desert through Midelt, famous for its mineral richness and delicious apples. We will carry on to Merzouga passing by many Berber villages on a desert road. Once you’ve reached Merzouga, you will meet our camel man who will take you on a camel ride on the golden sand dunes of Erg Chebbi to your desert camp where you’ll get your traditional “Medfouna” dish for dinner and spend the fifth night of our Tangier to imperial cities via desert under the magical countless stars. .

Day 6: Erg Chebbi to Merzouga to Toudgha Gorge to Dades Valley to Dades Gorge

After an unforgettable night in the middle of the Moroccan desert with our imperial cities tours from Tangier via desert, you should get up early to enjoy the spectacular sunrise, when the color of the dunes combines with the shadows creating a mind-blowing sight. After having breakfast, you will ride camels for a couple of hours before going to Tinghir and Toudgha Gorge for lunch, where the orange limestones are separated by a 300m-deep fault creating a captivating sight. The road passes through Toudgha Valley. It’s a wonderful place for a walk, you can wander along the river, through the gardens or up the road on the other side of the gorge. Day 7: Dades Gorge to Marrakech

After savoring your delicious breakfast, we will continue our Tangier to imperial cities via desert from Dades gorge through the beautiful Rose Valley and Skoura with its historical mudbrick castles and Kasbahs. Next on our journey, we will visit the cinematic city of Ouerzazate which has become a major attraction for movie makers from all over the world with its biggest studios in Africa “Atlas Studios” where the making of several great movies took place like Gladiator, Kingdom of heaven, Babel… and many tv shows like Game of Thrones. We will have lunch in a local restaurant in the Berber village of Telouet before carrying on our journey to Marrakech passing by the most famous and the most beautiful Kasbah in Morocco, Kasbah Ait BenHaddou which is a Unesco-protected red mudbrick Ksar that seems to be frozen in time, still resembling its days in the 11th century as an Almoravid caravanserai. Once we’ve reached Marrakech, our driver will drop you off at your accommodation marking the end of this fascinating 7 days journey.
